One of only 100 copies printed of a splendid record of Napoleon's coronation ceremonies. It was not in fact published until the time of his downfall, with the result that many copies were sequestrated; some, however, were acquired by the artists involved and others later by members of the old imperial and new royal households. Colnaghi's, established in Paris in 1760 and thus probably the oldest commercial art dealership in the world, moved to London in 1785 and opened their Cockspur Street premises in 1799.
