Description: This is a hand hewn cherry wood trencher bowl from New England circa early 1800s for your consideration. Look closely at the patina, the grain of the wood and the slightly out of round shape that is a trademark of a hand hewn antique wooden treen trencher bowl. Notice the stain and wear marks on the rim and the inside of the bowl that adds character and authenticity of its use. The antique trencher is very heavy cherry hardwood that is thick. The antique wooden hand hewn early trencher has a bee hive bottom, a flat resting bottom, and a flat resting on side for serving. The antique early trencher bowl has been cleaned and oiled with organic bee's wax. No stain has been added.
