Description: This is a rare colonial hand carved wooden laundry washing fork stick from New England circa 1700s for your consideration. The antique washing stick fork was hand carved from a single piece of hard wood and has a hole on the long handle end for hanging. The antique washing stick fork is thick and heavy and strong, which is why it has survived over 200 years. The fork on the washing stick is large thick strong and wide for ease of grasping the cloths. There is minor slight loss on the end of the washing stick knob handle (see photos). This loss does not affect the strength or character of this early primitive and only adds to the beauty and authenticity of this wooden treen implement that has survived over two centuries.
Condition Report: Age appropriate patina and wear
Dimensions: 38 inches long and 4 inches wide.
