Description: This is an antique hand hewn child's miniature pine wood trencher bowl from New England circa 1800s for your consideration. The bowl would have been made as a child's miniature trencher. One of the earliest forms of folk art in America was small hand carved children's toys. Children learned from an early age the skills of homemaking while watching their mothers. One can just imagine the workmanship and time that the craftsman took to make this darling miniature child's trencher that resembles a full sized trencher.
