Description: This is a rare and outstanding Shaker made American community size tin coffee pot from New England circa 1800s for your consideration. The coffee pot is massive in size made for use in the Shaker Community kitchen. The bottom and sides of the coffee pot are made of pieces of tin and crimped together. The Shaker tin coffee pot has a wide strap handle for pouring and a bail handle with a wooden grip for carrying. The eyelets on the bail handle are attached with rivets. The tin coffee pot has a lid with a hand turned wooden knob with a diamond shaped wedge hinge. The diamond shaped hinge was a common characteristic of Shaker made tinware. The Shaker tin coffee pot has a large pour spout attached by solder.
Condition Report: Excellent condition with age appropriate wear and patina.
Dimensions: 11 inches high not including handle, 12 inches wide and 36 inches round in circumference.
