Description: Chinese Ming Dynasty deep bowl vessel, the clay fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous. with simply gently rounded side emerging steeply to a slightly everted rim, raised on concave footed ring base. The exterior hand-painted in cobalt-blue and white of uptala, the night lotus blooms interspersed by scrolling tendrils. The immaculate porcelain body covered with a characteristic silky glaze, pooling on the base slightly veiling the mark. Elegantly presented upon a carved hardwood stand and fitted original hardwood box, with deep royal blue interior cushion, adorned with colorful auspicious pattern on metallic thread ribbon. Mark on the countersunk base, a seal mark, of four blue script -KaiShu- characters, within double fine blue rings; XuanDe Reign Period of Great Ming.

Seeking historical and collectible items he attended numerous auctions and estate sales in the area as well as from nearby countries. Sometimes finding a rarity sometimes just the camaraderie of fellow collectors.
