New York, NY, USALive Auction
Description: Artist: PAUL COLIN (1892-1986) Size: 15 1/2 x 22 5/8 in./39.5 x 57.4 cm Imp. Sp. du Conseil Created in 1951, the communist-leaning National Council Towards Peace was adamantly against the proliferation of nuclear arms and any actions which could lead toward another Great War. As such, it saw the Bonn-Paris Conventions - which would end the Allied occupation of Germany - as a potential threat. Here, Colin shows crows in the shape of a swastika as a warning against the reintegration of Germany into Europe. (wwii)
