This Opel GT/J 1900 has a new TÜV. The vehicle is in a completely restored condition; documentation with pictures are available.
From mid-1968 to 1973 exactly 103,463 Opel GT units were built at the Adam Opel AG in Rüsselsheim. The two GT 1100 and GT 1900 models followed the GT/J (Junior) between 1971-73, which could be offered much cheaper. The body was designed by Erhard Schnell already in 1964/65 – that means, the Opel GT was long before the Chevrolet Corvette C3 finished, which is quite similar to the Opel. Characteristically, the door cutouts stretch drastically onto the roof, also the folding headlights are operated manually by a lever inside the vehicle, the cooling air inlets under the front bumper and the steep tail without trunk door. The Opel GT is a two-seater without a trunk, with only an accessible flat luggage rack behind the seats. The upwardly extended backrest is designed to cover the luggage if it slipped forward.
