Description: ORTELIUS Abraham, "Aeneae Troiani Navigatio Ad Virgilij Sex priores Aeneidos", 1595-1624. Scarce hand-coloured copper engr. Centered in Greece, the map covers the eastern Mediterranean, depicting the adventures of Aenaeas fleet. Only seven of the original twenty ships remained, as may be seen on this map in the lower part of the sea. The map is ornated with four cartouches and has a privilegium dated 1594. Paper reinforced with 3 strips of pasted paper (2 marginal & 1 along center-fold). 3 vertical & 3 horiz. folds. Marginal tears and chipped margins with self adhesive tape. Small tears along folds. Scarce map in fair condition. Zacharakis 2507.
