Description: The flared bulbous body sloping from a broad shoulder to a tapered neck surmounted by a bowl-shaped mouth, the body painted in brilliant blue enamel of four writhing dragons on a dense lotus scrolls, with two additional dragons similarly decorated on the neck divided by a band of archaic dragons on the shoulder, with a band of crested waves around the foot, the base inscribed with a six-character Ch'ien-Lung seal mark, 18 inch high, fitted with hardwood stand. Provenance: From the estate of Dr. and Mrs. Paul Schmaltz, by descent to family member in Maryland. Acquired from Alice Boney Chinese Art Studio New York in 1958, see original receipt attached.
