More About this Item

Description: 1930 PARIS. Action de F100. blue. #115000. No 45129. Strong Art-Déco design by Eugene Alain Segny, a well-known Paris-based Art-Déco artist. Both persons after whom the company was named, were inventors in the field of electrical light. They founded this company in 1907 as a publicity agency. Originally known as Etablissements Pazet Silva, but renamed in 1930 in the above. Inventor Georges Marie Augustine Claude (1870-1960) was an important chemist and physician whose inventions in the field of liquid air formed for instance the basis of Air Liquide. With Paz and Silva, he realised the commercialisation of another of his inventions: neon light for the publicity market. The company was later taken over by JCDecaux, still a leading publicity/billboard company in France and several other countries. Extremely rare.
