Description: A fine Chinese enameled mallet-shape porcelain vase in original wooden silk box. The clay fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous. The rounded body of the vase is finely potted with a broad base and a rounded shoulder gently rising a columnar tall neck. The exterior delicately decorated in poly-chrome enamels comprising a peacock standing elegantly beneath shading pine tree within a garden landscape. Fitted perfectly unto golden-brown silk covered inner hard cushion, inside the original wooden case covered in blue silk with floral motif, with sliding panel lid. Mark on base, a seal mark, of six blue seal script -ZhuanShu- characters, QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing.

Provenance: From the heirs of Sir John Dorrington and the Vosper estates from Stroud Gloucestershire these items were purchased by a prominent antiques collector in 2008. Seeking historical and collectible items he attended numerous auctions and estate sales in the area as well as from nearby countries. Sometimes finding a rarity sometimes just the camaraderie of fellow collectors.
