Description: Jade. China, Qing dynasty, 19th to early 20th cent.

Grey-green jade, rectangular form, on the front is the framed scene depicting a sage in the center holding a ruyi scepter. Beside him a servant boy with an odd, large fan on a long stick. Next to the wise man is a crane, another bird is airborne, as well as big pines, all symbols of "long life". Decorative edge with archaic, stylized dragons, also on the back, where also a poem in nicely written long-hand caoshu is presented.
