Description: Plutarch; Socrates; Daneau. LIBELLI ALIQUOT FORMANDIS. [Geneva]: Eustathius Vignon, 1581. 4 5/8" x 3 1/8". 355, [1] pp. Title within woodcut border. In marbled paper wrappers with title on paper label in manuscript, numerical ink-stamp to inside of front wrapper, wrappers and page corners bumped near front and back, mild age-toning, some early ink notes to blank verso of final leaf, else contents clean overall and Very Good. ************************************** Only edition of this scarce compendium which was compiled and published by Jean Cherpont. The text presents three classical texts in Greek, Latin, French, and German in parallel columns.
