Description: Presentation sword of William Tecumsey Sherman (1820-1891) 38" overall length with scabbard, eagle and coat of arms hilt, gold finish throughout except for engraved silver 36" blade with eagle, U.s. and scrolls. Minor carbon age spotting on blade manufactured by Benit Pasquale, San Francisco. Provenance: Thomas Ewing Sherman (1856-1933) son of W.T. Sherman. CONDITION: Shows wear from age. NOTE: This item & information was obtained from the owner, a prominent Philadelphia military/weapon collector.
