President Portraits Broadsheet George Washington to Polk
c. 1849 Newspaper Broadsheet Page, First Eleven United States Presidential Portraits, From George Washington to James K. Polk, Fine.
This highly decorative Broadsheet is taken from a patriotic American period newspaper, measures 24" x 17" printed in black. This antique 19th Century printing is meant for display being trimmed from its larger page format to the outer border line of this main print and would be appropriate to mat and frame as such. It depicts portraits of the First 11 United States Presidents, from George Washington to James K Polk. The reverse side is printed with a number of other historic Revolutionary War Era commemorations and has a facsimile reproduction of "Dr. Franklin's celebrated Letter to Mr. Strahan," along with stories of The Battle of Bunker Hill, Battles of the Revolution and some articles and ads of the current era. Some folds to the corners, creases and wear, a small tear to the portrait of Tyler and some light, overall expected even tone, overall in nice original condition for display. Quite rare. The very first we have seen and offered of this type.
