More About this Item

Description: 21 April 1747 ZARAGOZA. Accion de 250 Pesos. black. No 395. Formed in 1746 as a textile company, especially wool and silk. It also founded paper-factories. After 28 years of existence, bankrupt in 1774. The decoration of the share includes local symbols - the arms of Zaragoza, those of Aragon, and St. George, patron saint of Aragon. Other symbols are of Spain - arms and Don Santiago Matamoros (killer of Moors). The (rather damaged) seal shows Zaragoza cathedral, and the bridge over the river Ebro in the city. Printed on vellum. Outside the printed part of the share, we see some brown spots and an unevenly cut bottom. Very early date. Rarity 8.
