Description: 17 July 1871 LIMA. 5% Bond of 100 Pesos. green, black. No 252. Arms of Peru, and vignette of a lady 'Liberty'. The loan was raised for the construction of a customs-house at Arica. There was a war between Chile and Peru 1879-83, won by Chile, which captured the city of Arica. The payments on this bond from 1881 onwards were paid by Chile.
