This scarce antique volume is bound in tan cloth, with stamped black lettering/ruling on the front cover and spine. The exterior shows a small number of spots of soiling, rubbing at the edges, and minor bumping at the corners. The binding is separating between the half title page and title page. The pages display light age toning, and light foxing at the edges of the text block. There is glue residue on the rear pastedown, likely from a previous library attachment. The front flyleaf contains a library stamp in the upper right corner. There is an errata slip tipped in at the front of the volume.
This work is illustrated with numerous plates, as well as a fold-out map at the rear of the volume. The map has a closed horizontal tear at the left midline, which has been repaired with tape on the verso.
