He served as Colonial Treasurer of Hong Kong from 1844 to 1845. Condition / Notes: This handsome antique volume has been rebound in brown quarter-leather with marbled paper covers. There is stamped gilt lettering/ruling on the spine. The volume shows light shelf wear at the extremities. The binding is solid. The frontispiece, with a loose tissue guard, depicts Halifax. The pages show mild age toning and occasional light smudging/spotting, mostly in the margins. The work includes two well-preserved fold-out maps.
