20 October 2016
London, United KingdomLive Auction
Description: oil on canvas
Condition:This work is in good condition. Some faint paint discolouration to the greens alongside the left and right edge and to the red on the bottom edge, all of this in line with the age of the painting. Some very faint craquelure to the the corner edges of the canvas, probably due to the frame touching the canvas. Some light scuff marks to the white section. A horizontal stretcher line across the lower bottom part of the canvas due to the stretcher behind in friction with the canvas. Some wood chips to the frame.Colour:The colours in the catalogue illustration are accurate, with the greens being lighter in the original work and the reds closer to a pigeon blood colour. The thin orange line is much brighter and fluorescent in the original work.
