Description: SMITH & WESSON, USA
A RARE BOXED .22 (L/R) SEMI-AUTOMATIC TARGET-PISTOL, MODEL ''46'', serial no. 24801,
manufactured between 1959-68, with 5 1/2in. barrel, blued slide with ramp foresight and adjustable rear-sight, blued frame, coarsely chequered anatomical walnut grips, the whole retaining virtually all its original factory blued finish and appearing little used; TOGETHER WITH its factory card carton with metal reinforced corners, a spare magazine and instructions for the ''41'' model (probably correct)

Other Notes: An attempt by Smith & Wesson to bring a less expensive .22 semi-automatic pistol to the market, sales proved to be poor with only 4000 being produced between 1959-68. Only 1000 were manufactured with the 5 1/2in. field barrel presented here
