Description: first edition, half-title, wood-engraved frontispiece (margin little stained), 2 maps (one folding, one double-page), 32pp. publishers' catalogue at end, half-title, frontispiece & title partly loose, inner margins marked, bookplates on paste-down and front free endpaper, original brown cloth, spine gilt, little rubbed, ends of spine and corners knocked, 8vo, Edinburgh & London , 1864. Provenance: Herbert G Squiers (1859-1911), United States diplomat; Maurice Sheldon Amos and Lucy Amos. Sir Maurice Amos (1872-1940), lawyer & judge, resident and working in Egypt for many years, awarded the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Nile in 1923, bookplates.
