Frank O'Hara was consulted for a participant list; although he couldn't personally attend, he created a virtual murderer's row of American poetical talent who would travel to Perugia in the summer of '65: Lawrence Ferlinghetti, John Ashbery, Charles Olson, and Ezra Pound. Yevgeny Yevtushekno also made a last-minute appearance, after being withheld by Soviet authorities on account of Pound's fascist propagandizing during World War II.
