Description: 1899 BRUXELLES. Action de F100. brown, buff. #25000. No 19374. Central fold with edge-tear (repaired) and some discolouration in left border. Fantastic design by Charles Posch with several coat-of-arms, 2 vignettes of sugar fields, representing both different sources of sugar: sugar beet and sugar cane. The company was founded in 1899 with a capital of 2,5 million francs divided into 25.000 founder shares and an equal number of actions de 100fr. The company owned 10.000Ha. of land alongside the Chemin de Fer du Mayumbe. The produce included sugar, rubber,coffee and tobacco. Later on, it also took participations in other countries (Zuccheria Nazionale, Italy ; Sucreries de Saint-Jean, Puerto Rico ; Cuba and Sumatra). The company merged into Trust Commercial et Colonial in 1928. Extremely rare.
