Description: glass painted in reverse, the smaller, rectangular painting with an officer and maiden painted with gold ornamental details, in a wooden frame painted with polychrome floral borders, old collector's numbers written to reverse; the larger featuring a maiden holding a fruit in an oval frame with floral interstices, within a mirrored painted wooden frame
The smaller painting with some flaking to paint, notably on maiden's chest, a little on hair and arm, the officer with some dripped paint from hat on forehead, the frame worn, particular to external edges, rubbed, discoloured, reverse also with torn page and wood-backing in poor condition. The larger example with strong, bright colours, minor retouching to some paint which had flaked (notably white paint), minor sections with flaking, the mirror frame with some wear and old adhesive marks to mirror (possibly indicating it had been re-stored), minor nicks to wood, reverse with one loose wooden board, old metal hooks, string for hanging, as viewed.
