Description: 1896 69 RHONE. LYON. Part de Garage de F100. black, pink. No 63. The primary rowing club of Lyon, a city well placed for oarsmen, with the two rivers. The club was formed in 1880 under the name of Union Nautique de Lyon. It had its first successes with two victories in the championship of France in 1893 and 1896, andone championship of Europe. The end of the 19th century was a successful time for the club, which then declined until the end of World War II. From that time the club entered a period of growth, and obtained several national titles from 1975 the club modernised itself, and changed its name to Aviron Union Nautique de Lyon. Pretty border with oars, sea-monsters, shipping, rowers on the rivers, anchors, and much else.
