Van Lennep was a missionary who travelled extensively from 1844 in Asia Minor and in the inner Black Sea/Pontos area of Trebizond, Tokat, Amassia and Samsun. This rich informative account is considered significant as these regions were rarely visited by Europeans at that time. Original brown cloth with decorations in gilt on front boards. Cloth faded, bumped corners & spine edge-wear. Chipped upper right corner of title page and worming throughout on Vol.I. Atabey 1275.
