Description: 29 October 1913 CONSTANTI-NOPLE. 5% Cert. Prov. de 1 Obligation de F500=LT22=£20. red, green. #50443. No 14703. Lower right corner cut, probably to remove a coupon (we have seen similar designs by Russian provisional loan issues marketed in Paris). Also folds and several edge-tears. Issued to provide funds for the rebuilding of some Istanbul quarters destroyed by fire, the purchase of the gas works of Dolma Baghtché, and the lands of Kadikeuy. This bond issue, with a total amount of 25.221.500 Fr. was marketed in Paris, London and Constantinople. The definitive bonds are well known. However, this provisionalbond has never been seen by us before and only this one certificate was recently found. Rarity 12.
