The three-door model was produced in the spring of 1957 to mid 1981 and was a subcompact hatchback. Originally the model was the economy version of the better-equipped Audi 50. The Polo I was available in the equipment base, L, S, LS, LX (for export only) and CLS, GLS, GT and Formula E.
In May 1976 this Polo L in refreshing 70s "marino yellow" had been purchased from its first owner (an artist in Sweden) and registered on 02/06/1976. The vehicle was driven only 65,500 kilometers, documented with checkbook and other documents, such as the original purchase agreement with proof of payment and the first manual.
The vehicle was purchased from Norway from a VW-collector in 2014 due to the rarity and the exceptional state.
To this day is the Swedish lady the only registered keeper of the small friendly car. The Polo is in surprisingly good condition with very well-kept interior and still has its original sparse features (no radio!) Very authentic. This chrome bumper Polo is probably one of the oldest available copies on the market - firsthand, with all the documents and in unrestored original condition.
