Dardelet, Grenoble One of Vincent's signature naughty children is shown here including his week-end cigarettes as an essential part of his life of leisure - from sporting country estate to an evening at the Ritz. During this era, "light tobacco found in Europe was usually a blend referred to as English.' Mainly Virginia tobacco, it had a pure, slightly sophisticated tastenot overly aromatic, not strong, with a very pronounced bright yellow color" (Affiche Réclame, p. 56). This is the smaller format version of the design.
