Lot 620: WIENER WERKSTATTE AUSTRIAN SCULPTURE.
22 October 2016
St. Louis, MO, USALive Auction
WIENER WERKSTATTE AUSTRIAN SCULPTURE.
Mid 20th century, brass. Boat and rowers, stamped on underside. 10"l.
One of the brass paddles is broken off to the 3rd figure back! That broken off paddle IS present. That 3rd figure back does not seem to be damaged in anyway as it seems to match the others, including at the foot as it is loose though, and therefore won't stand straight as the screw from the bottom seems a bit loose. AND, on that note, all four are attached by a screw from the bottom. That 3rd figure is the only loose one, as the others are resting 'snuggly'. All else seems to be in fine order.
The bottom is impressed between the 1st and 2nd figures on four lines. Those four lines read:
"Handmade", "Hagenauer Wien", the third line is a monogam of "wHw", and the "H" is very tall, all within a circle, AND "Made in Austria".
