Author: William Rawle - William Rawle was an American lawyer in Philadelphia, who in 1791 was appointed as United States district attorney in Pennsylvania. He was a founder and first president of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, president of the Pennsylvania Abolition Society, and for 40 years a trustee of the University of Pennsylvania.

Condition / Notes: This antique volume is bound in full leather, with red spine label and faded gilt lettering. The exterior of this volume is significantly rubbed, with some scuffing. The binding is sound. The endpapers of this volume show toning and foxing. Loss is present to the top of the title page, not intruding into the text of the title. Moderate foxing can be seen scattered through the interior of the volume, and an ink annotation appears on page 313. This volume contains an index.
