Description: WODEHOUSE, P.G. Group of 9 items Signed, "P.G. Wodehouse": 8 Typed Letters * Autograph Note. Together 9 pages, 8vo or 4to; generally good condition. Vp, 1930-75

Notes: 21 June 1947: ". . . I'm so glad you found 'Joy in the Morning' up to sample. It was written during the German occupation of Le Touquet with German soldiers prowling under my window and rather interrupting the flow of inspiration . . . .
"There is talk of doing a Jeeves series on the radio here, with Eric Blore as Jeeves. I get $1000 a week for thirty-nine weeks if it comes off. IF it comes off! I'm not a bit excited, as these radio things always fall through. I wish I had a fiver for every time I've been told that I am on the eve of making a fortune on the radio. . . ."
27 September 1951: ". . . I am so glad you like Ukridge. He has always been one of my favorite characters. . . .
"Ukridge . . . was drawn from a friend of mine with whom I used to run about London from 1903 . . . ."
2 May 1956: "Thank you so much for . . . the excellent suggestion for a story. . . .
"Meanwhile, in this one I am finishing now, I am using some of the old gang. Lord Uffenham from Money in the Bank has a star part, and Percy Pilbeam from Summer Lightning has a big scene. . . ."
