Description: An 18th century style commode. Rosewood and mahogany. Early 20th century. This chest was brought out of Havana, Cuba in the late 1950’s by a family that moved to the Connecticut shore. This chest could have been made in America. The metal mounts are gilt bronze. Drawers are all dovetailed. Size: 19.5” deep x 33.5” tall and 47.5” wide. There are 3 drawers; one with a non-operational lock. The white marble top has grey / black veining. Condition: well cared for; original finish; the gilt work on the bronzes are not the finest quality. Each leg has bronze paw feet. Bronze metal banding embellishes the drawers and side panels of the chest.
