AMERICANS SUFFER WHEN CARLESS TALK KILLS!(155 views)
Description: AMERICANS SUFFER WHEN CARLESS TALK KILLS! AMERICANS SUFFER WHEN CARLESS TALK KILLS! Original 1943 U.S. Government (military propaganda) poster by Harry Anderson. OWI officials felt that the most urgent problem on the home front was the careless leaking of sensitive information that could be picked up by spies and saboteurs. This propaganda poster, “The Sound That Kills” illustrated the “Loose Lips Sink Ships” campaign and discouraged people from leaking important wartime rumors and information. The information that this poster "AMERICANS SUFFER WHEN CARLESS TALK KILLS!" illustrates is that citizens should keep their mouth shut because word could get to the enemy which then could hurt the United States. The poster explains that if Americans talk they could be providing the enemy with information and then they could sabotage the United States. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition.
