Description: Internationally recognized pop-realist artist Don Nice received his BFA Degree from the University of Southern California and his MPA from Yale University School of Art in New Haven, Connecticut. Nice gained recognition as a new realist painter in the early 1960's. His work is in major museum and corporate art collections worldwide among them the Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, Walker Art Center and the Chase Manhattan Bank, New York. His painting "Spearmint Gum" is watercolor on arches paper and signed, titled and dated in pencil on the front. The work was featured in the exhibition "Contemporary American Paintings from the Lewis Collection" at the Delaware Art Museum / September 13-October 27, 1974. Listed on page 26 in the catalog.
