Description: Early Japanese large Imari baluster-shaped vase and cover with foo dog finial, painted with chrysanthemums over a tapering body decorated with shaped panels enclosing more flowers on a white ground, the sides with butterfly shapes. The Imari colors of blue and iron red with gilding are very soft.
