Description: A fine quality French Grand Tour mantel clock, with incised and red inlaid black marble, the architectural case in the form of an Egyptian gate, surmounted by an Assyrian Lamassu and flanked by standing male and female Assyrian figures, the front decorated with incised hieroglyphics in black and gold against a terra cotta ground, the round ormolu bezel enclosing a white enamel dial with terra cotta stylized Roman numerals, French, circa 1860. Keeps excellent time. Case and bronzes in excellent condition. Height: 25 3/8" Width: 22" Depth: 6 3/4"
