French Louis XVI Style Marble Top Console by Jansen(233 views)
Description: A fine quality piece, French Louis XVI style polychromed and parcel-gilt console table by Jansen. Circa 1940s, the shaped marble atop a narrow frieze with Cris-cross pattern and florette motif, fitted with three small drawers, raised on four fluted legs, the two back ones are decorated with scrolled pillars. This is a spectacular Jansen piece as is seen in both Jansen books as an example of the firms design. Letter of authentication provided by James Archer Abbott, author of "JANSEN" (Acanthus Press, 2006) and "JANSEN Furniture" (Acanthus Press, 2007), curator and director of Baltimore's Evergreen Museum & Library
