Henry Moore, Standing Figures, 1950(406 views)
Description: Cramer 14, undescribed first state of two (Cramer describes only one state). Exceptionally rare working proof, before the edition of 50. This impression shows a number of differences from the published edition as illustrated in Cramer. In particular, the background colors are solid rather than variegated, and the colors are more strongly printed and more saturated than the Cramer illustration. This impression also shows the registration marks used to align the colors. Printed on English handmade paper. A fine impression in fine condition. Sheet measures 16 5/8 x 11 ¾ inches.
Lithograph based on a drawing, Standing Figures, 1948.
Working proofs, particularly of Moores early prints, are of the utmost rarity.
