Description: Aesthetic / Japanesque Style parlor chair. Mid 1870's. Cabinet maker unknown. similar in style to pieces made by Herter Bros in NYC; but probably not by that firm. The carving on the back and front and legs is very competent. Re-upholstered. Size: 22.5" across and 19" deep; the back of the chair is 29.5" tall and the seat is 14" off the floor. No sure if this is Cherry or Mahogany. Condition: minor edge scuffing to the leg corners.
