Description: Item # 5546. A sterling silver covered tureen. Manufactured by The Mauser Manufacturing Company. Founded by Frank Mauser in North Attleboro, Massachusetts in July 1887. Along with Frank O. Coombs (his partner) they made “holloware of every description, stationary and toilet novelties and a large variety of miscellaneous articles and sets.” Our example is late 19th century. Size: 3 pt. capacity; 13” across handle to handle; 7.5” tall and weighs 52 oz. Condition: monogramed. Minor scuffs consistent with use and age. This was probably a “Sunday” tureen and was used infrequently. There is no notch for a ladle.
