Description: Membrane Half Cube is a Fine Art Glass Sculpture with spy mirrors and neons that can be used as a coffee table. Thanks to spy mirrors, when looking at the sculpture, you have an endless perspective, like looking into infinity. Press a button at the base of the sculpture and the perspective moves in front of your eyes for about a minute. There is a small motor inserted in the base that insufflates air into the sculpture . The air pushes an invisible membrane that causes a distortion of perspectives, a contraction and an expansion. Limited Edition of 20 + Artist Proof Numen/For Use (Sven Jonke, born in 1973, lives and works in Berlin; Christophe Katzler, born in 1968, lives and works in Vienna and Nikola Radeljkovic, born in 1971, lives and works in Zagreb) is a collective working in the fields of scenography, industrial and spatial design and conceptual art. The group first formed in 1998 as a collaborative effort of industrial designers Sven Jonke, Christoph Katzler and Nikola Radeljković under the banner For Use. In 1999 they established Numen as a collective identity covering all projects actualized outside the sphere of industrial design. From 2004 onwards, after setting up a large scale site-specific project for the production of “Inferno” in the National Centre for Drama in Madrid, Numen/ For Use become intensely involved with scenography. Further realizations in theatres across Europe ensued as well as museum exhibitions. Since 2008, the collective turns its focus towards configuring objects and concepts without a predefined function, an activity resulting in the more hybrid and experimental works such as the Numen-Light series and Tape, Net, Tuft or Net Blow-up, String .
