Description: A modern abstract painting by American female artist Irene Zevon titled Reclining Figures Interior created in 1957. This work was created while the artist lived in the Chelsea Hotel in New York City. She studied painting with artist Nahum Tschacbasov who was in a group of ten with the likes of Mark Rothko and David Burliak. Zevon was painting with the best artists in New York, absorbing and growing from their influence. Tschacbasov himself studied with Ferdinand Leger, and in this work you can see that he passed that influence onto his wife and student.
