The artwork depicts a scene of the interior of the music hall, as attendees mingle while the performance begins. The poster exclaims, "Every Night!"The Folies-Bergere is an iconic cabaret music hall located in Paris, France. The hall was established in 1869 and still operates today. The venue is known for launching the careers of many performers including Josephine Baker, as well as hosting comedians like Charlie Chaplin and Benny Hill among others. The Folies-Bergere commissioned numerous popular posters in the early twentieth century. Jean de Paleologue (1855-1942), better known as PAL, was a Romanian born poster artist, painter, and illustrator active in France during the late nineteenth century. He produced many elegant posters featuring beautiful women. He created posters for all the popular brands of the time including Clement Cycles and many posters for liquor and entertainment venues that are still desired by collectors today.
