Description: Pair of Louis XVI Fauteuils (Armchairs) Stamped "Girard." Maker: Francois Girard, Paris, recognized as "mai?tre" (master cabinetmaker) in 1741. Very fine carving, beech frame, excellent proportions and old silk.
Condition Report: Condition: excellent - ribbon top on 1 chair has a small break - beech frame repainted in the past, traces of blue paint may be seen - old repairs commensurate with age, including braces added in last 50 years under seats (not visible) - silk fabric beginning to shred.
