Notes: Etching and drypoint from Salvador Dali's Mythology Suite, published by Pierre Argillet . This piece is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Pierre Argillet. Salvador Dali was born in Figueras, Spain in 1904. Not only was he a classically trained artist, but Dali is recognized as one of the greatest draftsmen of the twentieth century, and was the single greatest influence on so many of todays artists. There is more museum space dedicated to Dali than any other artist. Dali was influenced by fellow Catalan artist Miro and by Picassos work with Cubism, Futurism and Metaphysical painting. He became one of the leading figures of the Surrealist movement.
