Description: Beautiful painting of Clyde River in Scotland by listed Scottish artist Alexander Nisbet Paterson (Scottish, 1862-1947). Signed "A.P. 1935" lower right. Alexander entered the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and the atelier of Jean Louis Pascal in 1883. He became a Governor of Glasgow School of Art in 1916. Having been a renowned architect, Paterson then devoted the rest of his life to watercolor painting, having been RSW (Royal Scottish Society of Painters) in watercolor since 1916.
