Ronald Seager: Double-Sided Plein Air Snow Scenes(274 views)
Description: Rockport Massachusetts artist Ronald Seager (1930-2005) was an active participant in the Cape Ann art scene. In addition to many fine marine paintings, he also produced several lovely oil-on-panel plein air countryside views. This one is actually TWO paintings: one on each side of a prepared hardboard panel. They are both winter scenes with snow, featuring a red barn. The one on the front is signed. The one on the back is a little less finished, and shows mountains in the background which identifies the location as most likely being in Vermont. (A favorite inland painting location for Cape Ann artists.) The oil painting is in original, good condition. The board measures 12"x16" and the new gold frame is approx. 15"x19".
